Set against the natural beauty of Mashomack Fish & Game Preserve, this wedding was a seamless blend of thoughtful design and an immersive guest experience. In collaboration with the incredible planning team from Nicole Sheppard at Wander Event Design, every detail was intentionally curated to complement the landscape while creating an elevated and unforgettable celebration from start to finish.
The bride’s parents were married on this property over 30 years ago, so it was important to reimagine the space in a way that honored the history while introducing a new perspective. The Sperry tent framed the stunning views and everything the couple loved about the space, while creating an environment that felt entirely their own
Guest comfort is always at the forefront of what we do. Our focuses with this particular wedding were on:
1) Climate Control – anticipating late summer conditions in Pine Plains after an exceptionally warm season
2) Effortless Navigation – ensuring the flow of the event felt intuitive and seamless for the guests
3) Refined Authenticity – a design language that felt deeply connected to the setting, the season and the culinary experience
The site isn’t typically utilized in a tented wedding capacity, so when we went about planning this event we thought about it from the guests perspective and designed it to flow seamlessly between ceremony, cocktails, and reception. We wanted guests to move naturally between the three spaces with each transition feeling purposeful and a clear sense of where to go next.
A defining moment where design and functionality aligned was in the development of the connecting pathways. The ceremony aisle extended from a striking tree-lined approach onto a custom wooden walkway that continued through to the reception space. This created a cohesive visual narrative while also resolving logistical challenges within the landscape.
The scale of this event required an exceptional level of coordination, and we were fortunate to collaborate with a team of partners who were genuinely invested in the outcome. The vendor curation process was incredibly intentional, and that shared commitment translated into a seamless execution. Equally important was a couple who placed complete trust in our team, allowing for thoughtful decision-making at every stage.
Upon arrival for install, we were met with an unexpected site condition that wasn’t disclosed to us, but required the installation of an additional large-scale structure and flooring. The Greenwich Tent team mobilized immediately, delivering a solution with enough time for us to thoughtfully integrate it into the overall design. That level of responsiveness was instrumental in maintaining the integrity and timeline of the weekend.
After weeks of closely monitoring the weather, there was a collective hope that the ceremony would be as envisioned along the tree-lined approach. As the bride stepped onto the wooden pathway, the clouds parted and light shifted, it was the moment where every element aligned exactly as intended.
